What to Wear

I get asked all the time from clients "what should I wear for the photoshoot?" or "what should my family wear?". The answer is pretty simple! I tell all my clients to wear something that reflects YOU! Wear something that you feel comfortable in, and something that will show off your personality! The last thing I want is for you to look at your photos from our session 10 years from now, and not recognize the person/people in the photos! So be YOU, be creative, and don't stress too much over the clothes.

Families: We are out of the 80's now and the matching family portrait outfits are no longer a must. Mom, Dad, sister, and brother don't all have to be in the same color shirts with the same color blue jeans. Rather pull out that old color wheel from art class and try to come up with color combinations that are complimentary to each other. That way, each family member can wear what they feel comfortable in, and in what will reflect their personality.

Newborns and Babies: This is completely up to you! I will bring props, hats, wraps, blankets etc, but feel free to bring along any other items or article of clothing that you might want in shots.

Kids: Have fun, be creative! Hats, Boots, patterns, your childs' favorite hair accessory...anything goes. When my son was 3 we had photo's done in Central Park in NYC. It was a great experience and I remember at the last minute packing a pair of bright green froggy rain boots to take along with us to the shoot. At the time, he was in a "phase" where he wore these boots rain, shine, warm, cold. He LOVED those dang boots! And while to other people the boots may have looked silly for "portraits", I happen to cherish the pictures from that shoot with him wearing the bright green froggy boots! Why? Because it was HIM and that is what I want to remember. So please, be creative, let the kids have fun, and let them even possibly help you with picking out what they want to wear or props they may want to bring.
